Reached out and spoke to Ken in great detail about a staircase / railing job. Ken committed to sending us images of what we had discussed the next day and the next day came and no contact from Ken. Since then we have sent a couple of text messages to him and he still has yet to respond. It has been over a week now. Ken just some advice, if you had only contacted us back we actually wanted to work with you on this project however based upon you not returning our contact attempts, we will not pursue working with you or your company. A simple reply would have been appreciated. Not sure if others have experienced this but not the way to treat customers.
A Step Above Stairs did a phenomenal job!! We couldn’t be happier with the process and the finished product! Our stairs are a focal point of our home and they transformed to exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend!
Ken and his associate did an amazing job updating our stair rails. We went from painted wood (old school) to beautiful stainless and wood. The hand rails are so smooth. Everything is finished off beautifully. We highly recommend Ken for work on stairs!

Ken and crew were on the money without glass and brushed stainless rail system in our new home. The quality of the materials and installation was top notch…and at a very fair price. This is the company to use whether your project is big or small.
The new staircase banister they built was a masterpiece. I watched as they created a beautiful finished product. They were like artists figuring out how they were going to put my new staircase into the confines of my previous one. They certainly demonstrated pride in their work They were so clean and always vacuumed while they were cutting wood In order to eliminate the dust. All three of the men working here were so pleasant to have around and I loved the finished product. I would recommend A step above Stairs and Rails highly.

Mid-November 2019 we gave Ken our $4,000 deposit and the mahogany wood to make our new stair railings. He said he could deliver in 3 weeks. Since then there has been little if no contact. We really liked him and believed he would deliver. After many calls and texts that have not been returned we are hoping that there might be a good excuse (health, emergency, etc.). I will gladly update this review if he comes through because I do not want to mistakenly ruin someone's reputation. All we can go on at this point is that we are out money and materials and no contact from Ken. Ken--if you are out there please contact us.Update--The owner has contacted us and said he would get back to us on Thursday when we hope that he will either convince us that he will complete the project to our satisfaction or return our money and materials. Again, my intent is not to misrepresent the situation but to get a resolution that is suitable for all parties. .I will continue to update as necessary. I am hopeful.Feb 22. 2020--Update. Ken has successfully installed our stair railings and it is everything we had hoped for. It is beautifully designed and professionally installed. We were sorry to have hear of his recent health issues and really appreciated him making the extra effort to complete our install. We are now very happy and wish Ken and his business success. Thank you!!
Ken did an excellent job for me building a new stair rail for our house in Ocean Ridge.Professional and dedicated to his craft. I will certainly work with him in the future.
Ken replaced our old wooden stair railing with a new beautiful railing with iron balusters. He was professional and the quality of his work was incredible. The stairway quickly be an the focal point of our home and I can't think of a single person who's entered our home without complimenting the beautiful stairway.
